Nothing Says Ship-Shape Like A Shine

Polish dull and tarnished brass lamps, clocks and nautical ornaments to add light and sparkle to boat interiors during the dark days of winter. You can use commercial brass polish or make your own by combining two cups of vinegar (or lemon juice) and a half cup of salt.

Use a soft sponge to work the mixture into the tarnish, let stand a few minutes, and then rinse with fresh water. Repeat if necessary. To go the whole nine yards, polish ports and windows to allow maximum reflection.
