Keep all your up-to-date boating documents – registration, insurance, safety certification, your license – in a waterproof, see-through packet within easy, secure access on your boat at all times. Do the same with your cell phone or other emergency calling device. In addition, if guests will be using your boat or Jet Skis, make sure they have the same information. Also, review with them boating rules and local ordinances (including wearing live vests) and a map of the area. These are basic boating procedures that are often overlooked and will prevent a lot of mistakes or misfortunes.
