Patience Is a Virtue

Be patient! Whether you're towing, loading or unloading the boat, cargo or people, there is a tendency to hurry. Safety is the primary issue at hand. You're dealing with people's lives. Think clearly, be aware of what's around you at all times, and make responsible decisions in handling your boat. Like defensive driving with a motor vehicle, the same holds true with a boat. Yes, there are times when you need to make a split-second decision, but always be on guard. You'll learn when to "step it up" or "cool it." Patience will help you grow in your abilities and experience.
