Do you have a boat or perhaps a PWC that you'd be willing to donate to a worthy cause? The National Association of Safe Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA), with the assistance of the BoatUS Foundation, is seeking donated, trailered boats and PWCs for a study on collision dynamics. The study is a two-year program using funds from a U.S. Coast Guard grant as a means for waterway accident investigators to learn more about collisions involving bass boats, pontoon boats, PWCs and small cabin cruisers.

The first round of staged collisions was completed in the fall of 2007. A photo gallery of that crash testing is now available online at the BoatUS Foundation website. There is also a listing of the kinds of boats needed.
