Fans of The Docking Game have been waiting a long time for a sequel—and it is finally here.
Mad Mariner launched The Cruising Game today, our second free, web-based video game in the last two years. If boaters greet it as they did the first game—The Docking Game was played more than 300,000 times — it should provide a lot of fun.
The Cruising Game focuses less on docking and more on navigating to reach a destination. It offers players a choice of three different boats, including power and sail, and all are equipped with bow thrusters and a chartplotter function to assist navigation. Global high scores allow players to compete, if so inclined.
The game includes six different levels, with variable weather conditions and new obstacles that insure no two sessions are alike. There is plenty of commercial and recreational traffic—both in daylight and darkness—and players may encounter a swing bridge, a regatta, a cable ferry—even a lock.
Give it a try, when you have some time. We hope you enjoy it.
