Well, a week or so of not much progress on the boat. The only thing I did on the boat was pump out some of the torrential rain we had this morning, and the spray the ants that were coming onboard in three different places. I guess it has the ant seal of approval. I don't know why small bugs (ants, spiders, lizards, etc.) take up with the boat so much. To top it off, I have a rabbit that lives under the hull a good bit of the time :-)
Later I was moving some other junk around (preparing to take it to the metal recycling center) near the boat and suddenly found myself seeing a wasp. Then another wasp. More wasps. Had a bottle of bug spray sitting there and used it, but it was about empty and I ran out of spray before the nest in the junk ran out of wasps.
I beat them to the garage... only to discover the door to the house was locked. Thankfully they gave up the chase.
What I didn't realize until later was that somewhere during this round something crawled up my pants leg and bit me in about three places. I'm sure I would have felt a wasp, but whatever it was, was rather potent. Not to put too fine a poitn on it, one of the wounds got infected. This moved things from a minor bite to a not-so-minor infection (which included a not minor at all pain). A round of antibiotics and a bunch of gauze and things seem better now.
This has had me off my feet as much as possible and unable to work on the boat much.
Life keeps intruding in my boatbuilding :-)
