Happy Birthday to me...

Well, another few days of little-to-no boat work. As I discussed before, having daylight and no rain to work in becomes important when you're building outside. I am still slowly progressing on obtaining some rubberized paint to seal decks and finish that part out.

The latest rains have been much better about not flooding the boat... only minimal pumping required. This shows I have things fairly well sealed (there are still a few open areas that I haven't addressed yet).

Since today is my birthday, I managed to score a new "toy"; it was time to replace my old shop vac. It's a wet/dry that has been well used and abused and the motor/bearings are dying. Melanie and Dane got me a new "Shop-Vac" brand unit last night. We'll see how it does.

I have used a "small" portable unit for some time. About 2.5 gallons or so, with a handle on top. I HIGHLY recommend this size for a lot of around the house and especially around the boat work. The ability to pick it up and carry while you use it greatly outweights the problems of having to empty it more often, in my opinion.

If you've never used a small one, give it a try sometime.
