Peter Mellon of Antique Boat America Pleads Guilty to Fraud and Forgery!

Normally this journal is for fun stuff. Boats selling, details on boats and the community surrounding them. I have traveled all over the country and from what I can see the group is honest, fair, and a joy to be around. I have done many a deal with a personal check and a handshake. It's a trusting group for sure... So when one of us gets in trouble with the law it makes big news here. I have had this story on the burner for a while, and decided that spreading rumors that tear folks down is not in keeping with the hobby's values. But it is news. And now it is out and I am getting emails and calls....so I do feel that as a forum for over 10,000 of you now a month, that you can at least read the news as it's out there. And not Rumors...I have also reached out to folks at Antique Boat America for a comment and they too were surprised... As I said, this is a trusting group.... From this article it appears that Peter Mellon also was a trusting person and it has bitten him in the behind... For now here is the article from the Vancouver Sun as reported yesterday. More to come.
